Update as of 25 March 2020:
On Monday, the government has announced that New Zealand will move the coronavirus alert to level 4 by Wednesday, 11:59 PM. In support of this decision, Victory Family Centre Christchurch will play our part in this national battle against coronavirus by cooperating with the month-long nationwide lockdown.
During the lockdown, we will not be meeting at our regular service location but will be moving our Church Online! We will live-stream our Sunday Service at 10:30 AM and bring the church right into the comfort of your home.
Life Group meetings will also be conducted via an online platform. It is necessary for us to stay connected and to encourage one another through prayer and the Word of God during this challenging time!
More details will be released on the VFC Christchurch website and other social media platforms over the next few days to facilitate Church Online. We look forward to seeing you ONLINE!
Update as of 21 March 2020:
VFC Christchurch will continue to meet at The Whare Room (Middleton Grange School) @ 29 Arthur Street at 10.30 am on Sunday. In light of the advisories from the government, we have put in place plans to enhance sanitisation at our meeting place and at the same time step up necessary precautionary measures to reduce physical contact in our service. Temperature checks will also be conducted at our service for everyone before entering the service hall.
This is not a time for the church to shrink back in fear, but to be in an attitude of prayer and faith. However, if you are unwell, please do stay home to rest.
The word of God encourages us:
I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
Let us continue to pray for our nation and serve the needs of others. Now, more than ever before, the church needs to stand up to bring the hope and love of Jesus to those who need it most. We are confident that with God, we will get through this trying time and we will see His hand upon each and every one of you.
